Well, after a (planned) week offline, the site is back up with a new theme and a blog.
This is the 5th version of Batfan.com and the first time it’s had a blog in about 6 years. I really liked the old design but, felt it needed a refresh. Since I was going to add a blog anyways, it was perfect timing to update the design. I mixed the art deco elements with a “flat” design. Overall, I’m really happy with how it came out.
So, why start blogging again? Easy, BECAUSE THE INTERNET NEEDS MORE OPINIONS.
In all seriousness though, I killed my old blog long ago because it was like talking to myself but, more labor intensive. Nobody read it, I hardly ever wrote in it and I had nothing to talk about. In other words, it was a GIANT waste of time.
However, I’ve made some great internet acquaintances over the past couple years (check them out here) and discovered a great group of people that I enjoy discussing geeky/nerdy/retro stuff with. I’ve also started the blog back up again so that I can start participating in The League of Extraordinary Bloggers topics. Along the way, I’ll be posting about cool stuff I find and other semi-interesting topics.
All that said, let’s get some things out in the open:
- I am NOT a chatty person, a writer or a blogger.
I will post when I feel the need to share something interesting but, not just for filler. Posts may be long, but will most likely be fairly short.
- I’m a busy guy.
In keeping with the item above, I have a full time job, a wife and 3 kids. I may not always have time for blogging. I will get to it when I can.
- I’m doing this for fun and to talk about rad stuff!
I’m not holding myself to any lofty journalism standards and you shouldn’t either. Read posts, comment, have fun and most importantly; don’t be a d-bag 🙂
DISCLAIMER: I totally stole this concept of blogging rules.
LET’S DO THIS!
Yay! Finally some signs of life! Love the design, too!
